It’s definitely starting to pick up although it is interesting that the more Russian lit I read the more I can see the formulas all the authors so clearly follow.

Well aware the author is a knobhead, but sometimes you have to read books by knobheads. Working on a few projects with this as part of the intertext, so figure it's time.

Yep. This is my annual “takes four months to read the first half and three days to read the second.” 😂

If you haven’t started reading this book you should, the way Solzhenitsyn writes is so good and fascinating. I’m about halfway and I can put this book down.

Here’s what I’ve discovered so far. I’m mostly reading this book because my two best friends said it was incredible, they had the guide of a professor, I’m just reading it on my own and I’m missing a lot. I want to have a deep understanding of this book, but without a guide it’s been a little challenging. However I will keep trudging along, for their sake and perhaps my own.

Are we supposed to LIKE this chronic complainer?
Also, why is Jordan Peterson one of the first things I see when I look up this author, is he that level of cringe that I should associate him with our cringiest of pseudo-intellectuals?

I’ve been reading this for about a month, which feels much slower than normal for me. But my fiancées mother, who might be the most well read person I know, validated me immensely when she saw me reading this and said only, “One does not read Solzhenitsyn quickly.”
