Never mind one's reluctance to agree with Carducci's solid points when he makes them in the most offensive way possible, almost as if to buttress his punk rock cred. Elsewhere his history is blatantly incorrect amid otherwise valid arguments.

Reluctantly, I found I agreed with pretty much his entire argument for the definitions, and distinctions, of rock vis-a-vis pop music. His brazen writing style is fitting for his self-appointed role as rock'n'roll advocate. Before reaching page 100 (of 529!) one may begin wondering what more he could possibly say. Then, he forces his Yankee politico duality upon the argument. Only Republicans can rock, apparently.
