No guys..I’m so disappointed bc I’ve seen this book in the library for a year and I’ve always passed it up for another day. The day finally came for me to get this book.. and I’m just so sad that it’s not as good as I had hoped it would be. It has decent ratings on here so maybe I just can’t appreciate it. But I really wanted to appreciate it. I want to stop reading it but I think imma have to push thru

Guys. Idek what I’m reading. I WILL be reading a fiction book after this. Too much self torture with these books. A logical person would just put the book down and read something else. But I must enjoy making myself miserable

LOL apparently companies collect our data (duh) to determine how important we are and how loyal of customers we are to their company (😵💫) and they treat us based on our loyalty””. People of higher loyalty get better treatment, deals, cut lines (physically and over the phone) YEAH companies (including banks) ignore calls based on data they’ve collected and seeing how much money you’ve spent w/ them.

Guys,,this book?? So hard to read lol I’m just a little girl..learning about how company’s use envy for marketing, they call it benjiden envy, a desire to be better, rather than afgunst, a malicious envy. Both of those words originate from Dutch. Anyway it’s interesting to see how we are manipulated in everything we do LOL. The book is hard to read bc big words, but it’s easy bc it flows so nicely.

Guys! Idk how imma feel about this book,, to say the least I’m intimidated bc there’s some big words here and honestly I think I’m gna have to be open minded about what they have to say, but I don’t feel like getting into all that rn,, but anyway, I started to get slightly bored and zoned out a tiny bit while reading it, but it’s caught my attention again so we’re good for rn 👍✨🙌

It’s good 👍 but I’m scared it’s going to be repetitive, ion like that in a book.

Putting this on hold for now. I feel like it's keeping me from reading other books that I want to to get back into my reading pace.

Roxanne Evans

A great book on economics, politics and psychology that was interesting and readable. It showed how capitalism divides us, and how human nature exploits social stratification. I learned how industries like airlines, hotels, heath care and public safety become the domain of the privileged.
The book explained how us ordinary consumers exacerbate divisions and become unwitting pawns in the capitalist divide.
