Potter was morose, "if ye have to Petch, realease the animals. Give them a figthing chance." He turned on his heel and, taking Meg´s arm, made for the ship. The Fell ran after them and tugged at Potter´s silver cuffs. He would stay with the cages. "I´ll help the ciurcus train, Cap´n. Best for me to be with Coocoolin. I´ll go with them. I´m with Coocoolin."

The tiger wolf dropped by the cage, where the crossbred mastiff was still held, to sniff the panting of its foe. strangely, the dog stopped its baying and moved away from the bars, as if was uncertain. Then the beast was off again. Now it appeared awkward and ungainly, as it shuffle carefully around the arena, savouring the stench and the sand where the previous canine combatants had been.

He spoke softly to the cub under his breath and stroked its head. He felt almost certain that whaterver was outside...

"The fell boy had managed to wriggle among the betting and the fury, the smell of greed and the stink of grown men gambling on dumb innocent animal blood. The beast stood proud, for it was intuitive from the wild. Rather than makinf for its adversary, it moved and sided against a board and presented itself as a target from onlly one angle. Then suddenly it shook itself, as it picked up the scent of the fighting dog..
