Status Updates From Bashed

This started so hard. I already miss Mark!

This book is tearing me apart. I just finished chapter 10 and my heart is pounding, hands are shaking, eyes are watering... I want to stop but can't.

Terrifyingly realistic. Heartbreak and all. No words to review.

Late to the party with this one too. Possibly because I was afraid for my heart. With good reason. OMG. *sobs*

I know, going in, that this will be one of those difficult read. Gay-bashing, a life lost to brutal violence, every promising angsts in store waiting to happen.
But I just can't resist this, so... *taking a deep breath before continuing*

I keep coming back to Rick's work because he knows how to dig deep into the pain, and then dive a little deeper. It wasn't bad enough that Donald was bashed, or that his lover was killed in the incident, but now his lover's brother makes a homophobic scene at the wake. I'm hurting for Donald and it has me glued to the story. No work today, must read.

The cover is scary. I mean, seriously, Mark was never like that through the book *shrug*

Bashed right on top of Breathe. Both picked for me in challenges. What's up with that? O.o

I forgot to breathe a few times so far, got a bit dizzy so I'm taking a break. Is Rick R Reed a genius, like Mensa Society genius? This is just so brilliant.
