Status Updates From La Divine Comédie

We only got as far as Canto VIII of Paradiso last night. One of our readers wasn't up to it and a few weren't available. So for the second reading in a row, we didnt get to the 5 Canto a night mark.

We keep saying we want to read it in the original, even if we don't understand it much.

We're unlikely to finish until the end of the year at this rate. Paradise is very cerebral, all about how to find faith.

The idea of ceaselessly striving for betterment or even perfection for as long as several decades or even centuries in purgatory feels oddly comforting to me.
