The story is compelling so far, but Natalie is such an annoying character. I'm dreading reading her chapters, but at least they're getting shorter...The one from page 159-161 is a pretty good encapsulation of what I find frustrating about her. wowwww this rabies pandemic really produces some hgorrifying infected! they arent 28 days later style but very odd and violent. nothing triggery but this will sit with me for some time. theres a hospital stairwell encounter that is unlike anything i've ever read. no torture porn crap but actual horror.

this book is great so far! it feels scattered but is not. the narrative is pretty tight and the worldbuilding solid. it feels very post covid lockdown but i dont know if its actually post lockdown. neat take on the "infected zombie" trope. i've still got 75% left and i cannot wait to see whats next!
