I know the author thinks she’s just creating conflict and angst and suspense with the standoff between Zaan and Lexi, but really it’s just like listening to two people bicker and it’s gets really really old. Really really fast. This book sucks.

I hate these types of books where there’s a cast of characters with all this history from previous books… like we’re supposed to know all of them. When authors rely on that too much for the depth of the story the novel you’re reading suffers greatly. It’s lazy and disrespectful to the reader. Easter eggs are one thing but authors take it too far so often.

Started off strong and now the dialogue is flat, the characters turning to cardboard, the romance far too convenient... low budge for sure.
