Status Updates From City of Gold

I left off on a pretty good part of the story, Owen just found Hercules and his finding of him introduced tons of new people and moving parts in the book I really like how they deiced to depict these new characters giving them a heavy south accent and actions that you can pick up on.

I really liked his chapter it gave us insight into not only Owens's feelings toward his family but his uncle's feeling up until this point Owen's family was a mystery, but getting that insight through the mourning of his father's death gave more character for us to like.

I really really like the 'miner-family' type of thing that they have built up, with Owens's uncle being what seemed to be a well-known miner it gave more depth to his family. It reminds me a little of an early workers union.

Following up on my last update Owen stepping up to the plate to go and such for his mules felt like a massive character leap he is still a teen at heart he isn't ready for this massive leap even his interactions with others on this trip show that.

so far into the book I feel like Owens Family Dynamic is a little odd or maybe not as much as meets the eye. With the death of his father, it was assumed that Owen would take on the role of "man" as he is the oldest but it feels like he isn't ready to chase after the people that stole his horses not alone at least.

So far this story really reminds me of my family on my mom's side it feels almost familiar, especially since it takes place around new Mexico and colorado I can really imagine the scenes. Also, I now know about something called a running brand where they changed the brand of a stole horse so it can't be found.

So far, Based across Colorado. Owen is a fifteen-year-old boy who follows men across colorado that stole his family's mules.
