Status Updates From Blue Heron

So much emphasis on the heron. It was weird. I didn’t like her dad at all or the story. This had nothing going for it besides some fanciful writing here and there. We don’t know what will become of Maggie’s dad. The ending was kinda weird…

“You read too fast,” her father said.

“I like to.”

“Page turners. The term tells you there’s nothing on the page worth savoring.”

“My librarian,” Maggie retorted, “says a page turner means that you *care* about what’s happening to the characters.”
