Giving one’s self up for the community in the long term often means loneliness in the short-term.

Somewhere along the way, I had learned that appearing vulnerable would be seen as weak, inviting further attack, so I would smile through it all.

Paul did not find freedom from others opinion of him because we was not accountable to judgment, but because he was. He understood his own knowledge of himself was ultimately a mystery to himself, much less to others.
