Ok. In a previous chapter Ashton drove a car and yet in this one it’s mentioned that iron poisons fae. How? A car is essentially a big iron box! Does it poison them only if they’re stabbed by it or something?! And what are their weapons made of? It better not be steel because that’s just processed iron. They’re carrying around their own potential death if that’s the case.

One thing bothering me about this book is how often Ashton is described as buff and muscular. I’m sorry, but if he was wasting away in a dungeon for ten years, tortured and half-starved and no exercise, he’d be little more than a bag of skin and bones. I suppose author could chalk it up to him being far, but that feels like a cop out. Just more bad cliche writing.

Barely into it and there’s already plot contradictions. 🙄

The prize in these books always seems to be making the sullen man in a position of authority smile. If you need that much to make him smile, maybe he’s not the one, gurl.

How can one pretend to fall asleep in two seconds? Haiyah, what a mess.

“Why?” I brought my other hand up and continued touching him, caressing the marks that added to his torment. “They are part of you. They make General Ashton stronger and more powerful. More badass.”
