Status Updates From The Once and Future Witches

I love Harrow's prose, witchcraft, and feminism. The opening chapters are gorgeous. This was shaping up to be a 5-star book for me until page 58, when the word "colored" twice in two sentences jarred me out of the dream. I understand, it's a tough choice whether to use historically-used words for race, but how they're used matters too. It felt gratuitous, or careless.
