Status Updates From A Thousand Words

There’s no plot or substance to this book at all. It’s just romance with no challenges to overcome. I could overlook it if they were growing as people and changing and developing and we had internal conflict but we don’t. And there’s nothing driving the story. So many things are so out of character if the author changed names you wouldn’t know it was a fan fiction.

I feel like the things people are saying about his change would mean more had he ACTUALLY changed in this book. There has been no change. He went straight to being nice and perfect. Bored.

Still currently disappointed with the Malfoy we have so far. He’s very nice and has no internal conflict other than being socially awkward. The only conflict driving the plot is the potential that hermiones parents won’t get their memories back. Also this is the least amount of tension I’ve seen from draco and hermione in a fanfic so far.

I tend to prefer a draco and hermione that develop over time and we get to see that change in them. So far it’s happening way to fast for my taste and there’s a lot going on that I could just never imagining draco doing.

So far I’m intrigued. I think this is the first eighth year fanfic I’m reading. Most of the ones I’ve read take place years after the war so this should be interesting.
