ugh i was so excited to read this and it’s just so ughh

I want to buy this book for every woman I know

Interesting metaphor about our minds/bodies/beings as garden plots that are tended to by our family/parents/etc., with certain seeds planted, plants cared for, etc. to describe the preconceptions were raised with about our bodies, others, and internalized shame

I picked up this book and dropped it a long time ago (when I was still in college?) because I wasn't yet ready to think about my body as a vessel for pleasure - there was too much trauma to unpack.

I'm in a much better place now, and am able to follow along reasonably. Unfortunately I'm having a hard time understanding and following the metaphors Nagoski seems to base this book on.

Excellent read for every human. If you are non-binary, author talks to you in the beginning of the book. Data isn’t there but this book helpful.
