also as a follow-up: i hate how some american boomers write. i don't know what you're referencing half the time because i didn't grow up back there back then, couldn't care less about certain details of american history. this is a reader's companion that is meant to explain the context and the significance of the play to me, yet it only further complicates everything. boo

a very interesting and alluding dialogue between Martha and george. seems like Martha has had an affair. Not sure, at least that's what George thinks. Would both Martha and George have an affair with the younger couple? No one knows yet soon to find out.
