There is a lot of character names being thrown about and a very in depth back story on every single one of them and it’s A LOT

I think I ODed on romances. This isn’t bad I just aren’t interested

Yes it’s cheesy. Yes it’s predictable. No, it doesn’t snow this much in the South of England. But it was sweet and romantic and really vividly drawn — I wanted to move to Blexford and be friends with these people (and if anyone out there wants to organise a Twelve Dates of Christmas kind of event, I will *gladly* partake — sounds like a lot of fun!)

figures the only time Kate has a spine is to be mad at a woman who doesn't deserve it, instead of ANY of the men who have been treating her like shit.

Oh! Is the cafe called the pear tree bc this is the first date section and “on the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me, a partridge in a pear tree”. Please say this is a trend that continues

she's gone from "it would be fine to have a man but not necessary" attitude in chapter one to placating a whiney douchebag she's gone on like two dates with because she refuses to end up alone with a buttload of cats.

at this point I'm EXCITED for her to end up with Matt because they fucking deserve each other

your character calling out another character's abrupt and unmotivated complete character change doesn't make it not bad writing...

gonna start skimming because Kate's complete inability to say no to Matt (or anyone but especially Matt) is killing me. if I were not reading this for a book club I'd have abandoned ages ago for dragging on

I get that everybody has baggage, but it feels like literally EVERYONE is hung up on an ex...

12 dates is too many. we all know where this is going and I'm impatient for it to just get there.

I feel like the premise would be much better as a movie, where a lot of things could just be quickly montaged and we could make this a tight 90 minutes
