OK so now Ive read this Christmas book in July do I?

A) Put my Christmas tree up
B) Drink my body weight in mulled wine
C)Make Mince pies (yuk) I call mince pies dead flies.

Believe it or not, my car stereo today automatically selected my music and came up with Michael Buble and Jingle bells.. I kid you not! Talk about an omen.
Anyway, where was I? This is a lovely Christmas read. Should you be a complete nutter like me reading snowy, cold novels in July then Im sure you too will enjoy it.

I absolutely adore Christmas stories, When I saw the cover for THE TWELVE DATES OF CHRISTMAS, I knew this would be a book that I needed for the holiday season and it did not disappoint. Sure, there were a few things that didnt work well for me but when I take a moment to think of the story as a whole, I cant help but get those gooey, happy feelings. Therefore, I think this book is a 𝗖𝗛𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗠𝗔𝗦 𝗪𝗜𝗡𝗡𝗘𝗥 and I recommend it to fellow readers

Well, what can I say about this book!!! I didnt enjoy it very much. I found the whole story predictable and uncomfortable. I love the idea of incorporating the twelve days of Christmas into the twelve dates of Christmas but, I found the story boring and too confusing. I felt like the writer rushed through the story and made it very muddled and quick. Its a shame because I so dislike giving bad reviews but I just didnt enjoy this one,

This was just so perfectly cozy and cute. There were so many descriptions of the holiday decorations, events, and food. I laughed out loud at some of the dates Kate went on and felt jealous of some of the others. The romance was predictable but still made me feel warm and fuzzy. Now I just want to drink some hot chocolate and go look at Christmas lights!

Kate is in her thirties and is single. She gets talked into participating in the 'Twelve Dates of Christmas' by her best friend, in hopes of finding romance. Kate is hesitant but decides it's time to get back out there. She goes on a string of dates, some good, some bad and some complete disasters. She thinks she has hit the jackpot when she meets Richard, but something's not quite right, perhaps she needs to look a bit closer to home to find love?

Ahh this was the perfect cosy Christmas read.

What a delightful holiday read! I was nervous to read another romance novel this year, as the previous two I had read were terrible. But this one was perfect - a tad sappy and predictable but lovely none-the-less. It reminded me a lot of the movie The Holiday. Definitely a feel-good book perfect for this time of year. A great escape from what has been a crazy year. I bet this book will be a movie one day!

3.5 stars. Thank you to Putnam Books and NetGalley for a gifted copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Overall, I thought it was a very cute and adorable small British town Christmas romance but my god it was wordy! The detailed descriptions of the town, her work, etc were a little over the top for me. I skimmed some of the details and pushed through it. The dates were interesting but I thought the demographics of some of the men were repetitive - with the exception of Drew and Richard, I

I think this book cured me of my Christmas Romance kick. This was like a bad Hallmark movie that wasnt even entertaining. Also the main love interest was a pretty garbage jealous person who makes some very questionable comments about women going on lots of dates. I definitely hate finished this and now Im going to read something decent. Bye. ...more

I love romantic comedies as well as Christmas stories so when these two are combined together it makes for a fun, cozy read. Its set in the sleepy town of Blexford England and centres around Kate Turner, a 34 year old designer who has all but given up on love.

Kate has a circle of friends, but the romantic prospects in Blexford are far and few. Matt is a friend from school who she had once shared and kiss with. Matt owns the Pear Street Cafe and Kate has a side job where she bakes for the cafe.

The Twelve Dates of Christmas by Jenny Bayliss is a cute Christmas romance. It features Kate Turner, who is quite happily single, content with her career, friends and lot in life, but is persuaded by her best friend to join an online dating app sponsored event of a holiday rendition of a dating game, The Twelve Dates of Christmas. It hosts a festive and unique date with a different match, twelve nights in a row for each participant. Jenny is giving the dating scene one last chance and

A huge thank you to Putnam Books and NetGalley for my advanced copy.

I am really feeling the holiday romances this year and The 12 Dates of Christmas was a great escape from my current reality lol.

What I Enjoyed-

The Setting- This book is set in the UK. The little town of Blexford was adorable. I love small town settings and can totally relate to the pro's and con's of living a small town life.

The Characters- All the characters were likeable.

The Dates- I enjoyed all of the

The premise of this book really appealed to me as it offered a suggestion of being a little different to the many Christmas novels available.

There was a lot to like in The Twelve Dates of Christmas. This book was so incredibly cute and the perfect holiday read!

The Twelve Days of Christmas is a song I am sure all of us can sing and we've come to love or hate it. There are also many spin offs of the twelve days and this is such a good spin off, with twelve dates!!

Main character Kate is in her thirties and happily single. She creates textiles designs, bakes sweets for the local bakery which happens to be owned by her best friend, Matt and lives in the most picture esc English

This is a 3.5 for me. It was super cute and I loved the plot but the writing was a bit clunky and there were too many mini info dumps that often added very little to the story.

Overall it was an adorable Christmas read. Very festive and entertaining, perfect December read!

Kate was just about ready to give up on finding her "someone", but thought she should give it one last try. She signed up for the special dating package - twelve dates with twelve men in twelve locations. The plan was to meet her match by the holidays, and despite all the ups and downs, she actually did find love.

Four words to describe this book: delightful, heartwarming, whimsical, and charming. The extremely fun premise was deftly executed by Bayliss, and I had the BEST time

Kate and Matt were the best of friends growing up until a falling out in college. They rekindled their friendship when Kate moved back to their small town outside of London to be near her father.

Bayliss has a way of quickly putting you in the holiday spirit with her idyllic setting and food descriptions. As with so many British romcoms, this one has the best supporting characters - from the dates, to the friends and parents - I loved them all! Kate was a strong, smart heroine and I truly loved

A holiday romcom with quaint English village appeal. Kate Turner decides to sign up for a package deal that gives her the opportunity to go on a date (arranged and supervised by agency personnel) with twelve different eligible men. What can go wrong? Kate's best friend Matt can think of a few things. Her other bestie Laura fully supports the plan. The rest of the village has a grand time treating it like a spectator sport. Kate is now the village version of "The Bachelorette." Along the way she ...more

This was a lovely read to slowly ease into the holiday spirit. I absolutely loved the story, and the way Jenny described all the cosiness of Blexford. It was a little slow at times for me, though, and the chapters were too long. But, all in all I really enjoyed this book!

I really enjoyed this one. This novel tells the story of Kate, who is single in her mid 30s and is convinced by her best friend Laura to sign up for a dating experience, called the twelve dates of Christmas. Throughout December she will go on twelve dates with different men in a hope to find true love.

But, the course of true love never did run smooth and living in a small town means everyone knows her business. Her town is close knit and friendly and one she

Elevator Pitch: On a last ditch effort to see if she can find someone to settle down with, Kate takes part in a dating service - twelve dates in the month of December where she mingles with a mix of personalities.

I would give this one 4.5 stars if Goodreads was evolved enough to have half ratings - not quite a 5 because some of the setting descriptions were verbose/over involved. However, this book was a delight! It felt a little like The Holiday meets 27 Dresses, with a fun leading lady managing a 12 different first dates in the days leading up to Christmas. Even though I figured out how it was going to end early on, I thoroughly enjoyed the character development, quirky dates, and English countryside ...more

This book was perfect for a rainy day on the couch with a cuppa (as they say across the pond). It was witty, sweet, and romantic. Some of Kate's 12 dates were hilarious! I honestly wish Manhattan would set up something similar because I would like to give it a shot :) I adored all the characters and townspeople of Blexford, and while I saw the ending coming, I quite enjoyed the journey. Perfect for fans of Holly Martin.
