Status Updates From Forgotten Monster

Not sure if it’s me or the book but I’ve just lost interest.... I will try and continue later in the week.

In those seconds of silence Taisce tensed, fear settling into the pit of his stomach. There was something wrong behind Sef's eyes.

He tempted Fate at every turn and Fate was known for slitting the throats of the unwary.

But now, this boy. He had poured hope back into his heart and Sef realized now how much he did not want it. To hope was even more painful than to wish for nothing at all.

Sef tugged the collar of his shirt open, fanning his face with one hand, and tried to unearth more patience for the task at hand. He doubted he would find much. Patience had never numbered among his few virtues.

Somewhere Iolan was laughing at him, wherever the souls of cunning women retired to after their death. He could almost hear the deeply musical sound of it. Perhaps someday he would be able to laugh too. Today was not that day.
