Status Updates From Johnny Thunders: In Cold Blood

“Johnny raises his arm like a demented choirmaster…” Why? Why, bitch? Did you giggle over what you thought was a genius line you thought up all on your own? Thunders is paying for your travel. Food. Hotel stays. Your fucking cups of coffee & still and continuously the insults. Honey, you’re not even a 21st century “creative.” Any and every opportunity for potshots. The trust he gave you wasn’t deserved.

Man, I don’t even know what crappy page I’m up to, dragging along, BORED.
Maybe just abandon this so-called “author”’s “bio”—there’s so much Jerry Nolan, do I bother w/that book at all or just trash it?
Sitting here thinking about it suddenly pops into my head slam books and burn books, wtf kind of bio do you get when you leech onto a human and write every damn bad thing about them?

This is no biography. It’s an imbecile of an author who focused on only writing about drugs with a little bit of nobody-gives-a-shit-about filler in between. I don’t know if I can be bothered dignifying this two-faced dolt by reading anymore, it’s boring af. smfh

What reason for this book? It’s hard to find a reason for Johnny Thunders. The amazing guitar player, writer, singer; foul-mouthed, rude, sometimes crude, smart ass who wouldn’t hesitate to beat the shit out of you with his guitar—just some of the things I always loved about him. Hey, NYC. And his Queens mouth the same as mine, but better. Note: Pg. 138 “I have a heart, you know. I’m still a human being.”

No matter how many times I pick this up, when I’m done for that 15 minutes I can barely tell you wtf I even read, that’s how uninteresting this is. I devour books constantly. This one? Sadly, I have not one fcuk to give. Better off remembering him when I was 16, bent over, wasted, playing & singing a damn good show. And having to turn away or put my head down because it hurt so much to watch him.💔

This book sucks. It sucks bad. Biography? Kinda sorta not really. It’s no longer taking forever to get through because I’m only reading it when I’m around to eat; even then I’m not interested in continuing. Boring af, the sun is shining, the birds are chirping, the sky is blue, but not much else. Wasn’t this woman hanging around like a leech or was it my mistake thinking she’d led us to believe so?

It’s interesting to find you’re reading a biography about a person who’s barely in it. It’s also taking forever to get through a book that should only take a couple days *at most* to read, because it’s so dry and boring af. There’s nothing here prodding me on, it’s not a page turner, there’s no “need to know.” Essentially dead air and random crap you couldn’t care less about. Damn.😒

Yeah. I started it 13 days ago. When a book is so boring&unengaging, you’ve gotta chuck it or relegate it to a couple pages a day w/your breakfast&lunch&how long does *that* take to eat?? Tremendous disappointment; will it somehow redeem itself? I’m a fxn editor, author&writer. I work in book publishing&advertising. That there’s 3, 4, 5 star reviews, gotta check those out; I always like a good laugh.

No way I’m recommending this crap. Waldo’s book is way better. So far one good quote from JT; stupid quote bits from all & sundry. Up to the Anarchy tour, which we all know blew thanks to Rotten fcuking it all up. Bi*ch, back to creative writing 101. And I’m not talking about the typos, grammar—INCORRECT “FACTS,” et.al. JT thought she was smart?? He was just a kid who didn’t know any better.
