Status Updates From The Queen's Secret: A Novel...

Ummmmmmm...

DNF - even though I am a huge fan of historical fiction, the narrative of the Queen Mum being adopted was constantly repeated (as if the reader had forgotten from the previous page) and I just couldn’t get into the first person narrative.

Either the narrator is whinny or the writer is. The queen comes across as selfish, and self centered.

I’m really into it and loving it so far!

Just could not get into it. I’m not sure whether it was the writing style or the story line, but I could never get past a page or two at a time before I’d get bored and move on to something more exciting.

Finished the book and it is a good book to read on a rainy day!

EBL is such an unlikeable narrator. She's vain, manipulative, thinks she's better than everyone else... Plus this author has taken every rumor about the royal family and treated it as truth (she's a bastard by a servant, she wanted to marry the older brother first, etc.)

Hating the beginning of this because it's from Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon's point of view, not QE2

i feel so cozy with historical dramas..

I love everything royal related.

This book is an absolute SLOG to get through. Some may be the whole pandemic thing but ooph. Is it over yet?
