I think this book is overly biased towards one form of communication and says that others are not good because they don’t explicitly express a need. (IE: “I’m sad because you’re not coming over. I was hoping to spend the evening with you” isn’t good but it’s okay to say “I’m sad you’re not coming over. My need for x isn’t being met”).
