I did not expect this book to teach me the etymology of the word “cuckold” - apparently it comes from Cuckoos who lay their eggs in the nests of other birds. Makes sense. Kinda funny.

Charles is a very unlikable character I wonder why Erin didn’t divorce him

This is so short it feels silly not to finish but I find the main character such a slog it's been difficult

The story is has ramped up so much I feel on edge every second I'm in it, but also Charles pisses me of. He NEEDS to tell someone the truth, I am BEGGING

Page 117 was SO riveting. I felt absolutely sucked into the story and the mystery has finally grasped me in full hold.

This book is digging away at my heart. It's such a dark Victorian-vibe depression novel and the main characters make me feel actually miserable

Currently not a fan of Charles's weird cheat-y mindset... Did he cheat on Erin?? Not liking that... The British manor vibes are cool though and go really well with the tone of grief
