Status Updates From Vampires in the Lemon Grove...

I've now reached the story where US presidents are reborn in horses in this random barn, Karen Russel's imagination is fascinating

I'm about halfway through and I've noticed a pattern to the stories. Slow starts, distracting middles, then a clear(ish) point as the author hastens to an ending. I don't particularly mind that most stories don't have a neat ending. I am, however, no longer interested in all of the randomness that seems to be there not to enhance the story but to prevent the reader from discovering the hidden message too quickly.

Three stories read so far, enjoyed the first, really liked the second, and really disliked the third lol. We'll see how the rest goes!
