He is not a great person in my eyes as I've read too many articles on him and it's true that you cannot separate art from its artist. Reading is political and seeing Chomsky's tarnished reputation doesn't bring any light on his work but I cannot base my judgements on what I've read on the internet. So, picking this up at the end of the year is supposed to be a challenge and I'm up for it.

So I just found out that my book edition includes all of the extensive footnotes which is almost 60% of the book itself!
That's quite convenient when I can jump back and forth between my reading and footnote extension :D

19% and it's only been 5 chapters of the 10-chapter book. Guess the rest will be real heavy-weight.

I get that it only consists of Chompsky's talks and discussions from the 80s to the 90s. But I can't help wonder, what it will be like if this also includes his reflections and connections from and in the 2000s and 2010s. Because our world has been spinning at the exact same spot.
