Status Updates From A Princess of Mars

End Chapter III.
I should’ve read this sooner! I’m reading the Portuguese edition, but the original must be really good. The writing is great!!

I should’ve read this sooner. So good!!!

I'm going to expand my thoughts on this later but this book is both revolutionary and also such a product of its time. Ok sure we're all social products, but I think that good authors are generally able to look outwards in at their own societies to tell human stories. In being unable to do so, the racism, false-rationalism and self-righteousness of the 19th century is reproduced on Mars.
