Status Updates From Top Shelf (Seacroft, #1)

This is going nowhere fast.

I'm not sure how I feel about it.

So far the only character I really like is a seventeen-year-old secondary character.

Seb is a bit of an ass.
Martin's woe-is-me thing is getting old.
Seb's agent is obnoxious and doesn't know when to shut up.
I can't stand the bookstore owner.
Martin's brother is a jerk.

There's slow burn and there's S L O W burn.

Pretty much nothing has happened other than my dislike of the characters.

Dropped it.

DNF I quit, at this point I hate every character except possibly the 15yr girl.

One MC is pathetic to where I pity him, widh he had support, but don't champion him as a romantic lead.
The other MC is obnoxious often deliberately.

There are few side-characters one is all colour but no personality, the other three have issues, oh and then there's a potential upbeat supportive female friend.

The book-shop is interesting but how do you achieve the quirky shelving unless you've read every book?
