Status Updates From Běsi

This MAY be my favorite Dostoyevsky yet. The drama… the action… the deception! Marvelous!! I’ve binged almost 150 pages in the last day! Dostoyevsky has done it again: waited until the latter third to bring around such a fantastic dramatic experience

A duel with three shots from each side and an encounter with an escaped convict who suggested he would murder again for a few rubles. Also the son of the main character’s friend is running around poking at the governor and suggesting that the troublemaker from before is part of a secret society with ties to Moscow.
