I desperately want at least one 5-star read this month so I'm pulling out the big guns, my hopes are SO HIGH (and of course I'm already hopelessly in love with both James and Sydney)! ❤️❤️

Sydney hums, even as his eyes fall closed. “Getting there.”
James’ arms suddenly wrap around his waist from behind, holding him close.
“My man,” James whispers into the nape of his neck. “My sleepy man. Come on to bed.”

It’s been one hundred and thirty-seven hours since he last held James Campbell. One hundred and thirty-six since he last saw him. The knowledge that that number will only ever grow towards infinity leaves a thudding, irritating ache in his chest, drowned out only by the heaving drone of the wind as it whips across the ocean’s churning surface.

Sydney hadn’t realized how badly he needed to feel James back in his arms until he has him there, deeply breathing with his cheek burrowed into the crook of Sydney’s neck, arms wrapped tightly around the low of his back. The island seems to settle and sigh beneath their feet, quietly fading into the hushed tones of dusk, as the sunset colors gently pull the palm fronds down towards the earth to rest.

The writing is so immersive that I feel the sun in my eyes, the salt in my skin and sand in my feet!

I’m saying I finished this book because I didn’t feel like reading the epilogue. The first 50% I thought I was giving it 5 stars but then it just dragged on and on. Not much happens, it’s just super poetic

James suddenly realizing he's in love with Sydney.... it's the drama for me. It's kinda stupid but I'm also eating it up.... it's the whimsy of it all
