Tavvy says, picking up her bag and winking at me before running out the room past Oisin. She tells me to stay away from the Tale brothers, and then in the next second, she leaves me alone with one of them. I close my book and put it in my bag before walking to Oisin who waits at the door for me to come out.

“Yeah, we would love one. Do you know someone who has time to walk us to class?” I retort, and he laughs with Tavvy and me as I stand up. “But being more serious, that would be cool. We haven’t had time to catch up much yet.”
“I’m going to run and get some energy bars from the breakfast hall for us. Go ahead without me,”

“Plenty of time to learn,” I say, smiling at her just as there is a knock at the door. Tavvy walks to the door and pulls it open. She moves to the side a bit, so I can see where Oisin is standing outside with his arms crossed and a mysterious expression on his face as he spots me.
“Morning, ladies. Do you girls want a very good looking escort to class?” he asks.

Quinton’s a dark tale the signs are all there.

“I see you haven’t changed all that much since we were kids. You always teased me with things back then,” I reply, and he nods.
“Though I’m better at it now. How is Quinton?” he asks me, but I don’t get to answer him even though him just mentioning Quinton makes my heart ache and the smile on my lips disappear.

“Should we practise kissing again? I will make sure it counts, Madi,” he whispers seductively in a way that I’m sure most girls would fall for.
“If we follow that rule, I’ll have to kiss you all. As I remember having five first kisses,” I whisper back, and he grins in a teasing way.
“Touché, Sleepy,” he chuckles, crossing his arms and leaning back in his seat, making me feel like I can breathe again.

“We were eleven, it hardly counts. None of us knew what we were doing,” I say, ignoring how he leans close, so close I can feel his warm breath across my own lips when I turn to look at him.

“Only a little bit hot,” I reply, making his lips twitch.

“I’m offended. I was your first kiss, and I’m only a little bit hot?” he says, reminding me of the time we decided to practice kissing because everyone at school was doing it.

“The hottie knows where I am if he wants to move,” I reply, shrugging a shoulder as I take my bag off and push it under the desk.
“You think I’m hot?” Noah asks, making me jump a little, and a few guys in the room laugh around us. Noah pulls out the seat next to me and sits down, pushing his bag under his seat next to mine before focusing all his attention on me.

“Here,” Noah says as I walk further in the room, reaching a hand out to hold out a seat next to him. I look over at Tavvy who sits at the desk nearer the front of the class, who has empty seats next to her. I mouth “sorry” to an annoyed looking Noah before going to sit next to Tavvy instead.
“You chose me over the hottie,” Tavvy says, flashing a surprised smile my way.

4-5 boys per girl. Maybe there’s still hope for Quinton after all.

If Quinton is older I bet he’s a dark fairytale and knows that Mc is a fairy tale. If he’s young bet he find out about the fairy tales later and it’s gonna be a sad betrayal for Mc since her best friend/ ex is now her enemy. Or if the dark fairytales have different rules he already knows and is waiting to find out if Mc is a fairytale.

“Listen, most fairy tales the humans wrote…well, they got it wrong or mixed up. Cinderella could start fires, control them, and charm the opposite sex into falling for her,” she explains to me, and it kind of makes sense in a weird way.
“Like the prince who fell for a servant,” I muse.

“Yep, all blond hair and crystal blue eyes, but he has issues with his powers, like all of us do,” she sighs.
“What would Cinderella’s descendant even get for powers? A fairy godmother?” I ask, thinking of the fairy tale and not knowing what else to imagine. She laughs before answering.

“I’m not—” I go to disagree with her, and she interrupts by placing her hand in the air.
“Don’t try that one. All descendants who were made pretty in Disney films are fucking stunning in real life. You should see Cinderella’s descendant, he is yummy…but also an asshole,” she says, making me laugh a little. I already like my new roommate, I think.
“Is he?” I ask.

The tree is behind the castle. What are you?” she asks after blurting a crap load of information out about another descendant.
“Sleeping Beauty,” I say, and Tavvy rolls her eyes.
“Another princess this year. I should have figured it out, you’re beautiful,” she says with a little shrug.

I ask once I put the book on the small table by the door, and she nods.
“Yep, I’m a fairy and all that, but I don’t have my wings yet. Also, Peter Pan’s descendant is a strange kid who can transform into a tree, so he never has to grow up. Not really my type. He is literally still twelve…and has been for hundreds of years.
