decided to DNF halfway through. didn't like the application of literary analysis to survival testimony that has gone largely understudied - kind of thought it was inappropriate and irrelevant, considering how much there is to say about the siege of leningrad. also, found it to be a bit boring. I thought the amount of primary source material would make this really good but unfortunately it did not.
