It’s got political unrest, a gothic castle used as an asylum, criminally insane patients, a copy cat Jack the Ripper, the devil, psychiatry, racism, and a handful of Nazi’s. That’s a lot of threads to keep hold of in a story and I’m intrigued to see if Russell pulls it off.

Bua, entre la ambientación y los crímenes tan gráficos me estaba encantado, pero esa mención al Osario de Sedlec me ha dado la vida.

Overdrive sucked this back. I thought I had until the END of the 28th, but apparently your books expire at the BEGINNING of the day.

Sooo creepy. I’m hooked on the mystery and the two parallel storylines.

The forest is Alice. I don’t mean just the trees and the misses and the plants and the animals—they’re all just parts of it, like fingers or hair or skin are parts of us—I mean the forest. It’s a great spreading mind that stretches out and is filled with shadows and light. And more than that—it dreams. It dreams all kinds of things. Good things. And bad things.

La sinopsis del libro me animó a leer un capítulo para ver de si le daba una oportunidad. Pero al parecer, me atrapó, ya que me he leído 4 capítulos.
Espero que tenga ese mismo camino.

This book was amazing. Folklore, Jungian archetypes, a mystery, all one could ask for in a book. Loved it.
