Oh no not the hot elf prince! This is book 1 of 7 so he’s probably not dead but being trapped in a burning city as it’s invaded by dragon Vikings is not a good look

Considering this book is 600+ pages, this romance is going VERY fast

Unfortunately I have discovered that King's Dragon is actually a ceremonial title and not a real dragon. Please be patient with me in this time of mourning

This book is so heckin’ long but I think the action is about to really pick up

Great book. Fits in with the "something to tide you over until the next game of thrones book" as if that were still a thing.

Hugh reminds me a lot of Konstantin from the Winternight Trilogy and we all know how I feel about Konstantin (negative. it's very very negative)

It's basically impossible that I'll be done with this by the time it's due at the library but I'll be darned if I don't try

As what usually happens with Kate Elliot books it starts out interesting then I loose that interest as it goes on. This is the third book I've tried reading by her where we're given a glimpse of a fascinating new world and some action in the first chapter, followed by an immediate slowdown scene for a dog pile of incomprehensible info world dump exposition. I think I'm gonna permanent DNF this.
