I actually started this book last August/September (2025) so it’s taking me a while to get through it.
*I’m not much of a reader, I’m mainly just going through the Vampire Chronicles!*
The thought of Claudia is getting me through; I’m really intrigued by how Rice will reintroduce her as a ghost, after 4 books!
Undoubtedly it is the typical Rice writing of over-explained story that is making it tough 😅

I feel way better now we’ve got to the plot of this book. I wish David Talbot would drop dead and this book about Merrick and Louis’ trauma was in fact about that instead of Anne Rice’s usual ‘pedophilia and crude depictions of foreign countries’
