on first read through i thought the lestat/akasha scenes were just talking in circles, maybe implying not the best/most interesting writing. but now, rereading and making my little margin notes, i see how intentional it is. Lestat is good at heart, but distracted by love and has never had to think on such a grand scale. Akasha’s part shows the futility of arguing with someone so self-righteous and self-centered.
