This book had me laughing out loud…LITERALLY! I rarely do that for an autobiography. Akilah’s quirky and bluntly hilarious outlook on her life is what makes this a great read.

I'm very much enjoying this. The chapter she wrote about her 5th grade teacher was super relatable - my 6th grade "gifted and talented" teacher victimized me all year. However, I know with 100% certainty that it had nothing to do with race, unlike the story in this book.

She's 6 years younger than me, so I don't totally get all the references (neopets?! no clue what that is), but I get most of them!
