I'm really liking how Akhtar is writing about religion and its power to be both accepting and condemning for the people practicing it. Zarina's writer's block fractured after a conversation with Eli (who her father met while catfishing as her on an online dating site; sketchy), but when the latter read the final manuscript, his own views of The Prophet don't match up with her depiction of him in her novel.
