What an honour it is to read the story of Narcisse Pelletier which Robert Macklin has brought to life in his latest book, Castaway. Narcisse was abandoned at 14 after a shipwreck, and survived due to the help of the Uutaalnganu people of Cape York Peninsula. His resilience and tenacity in the face of a harsh world are really a sight to behold, as is the warmth and love of those that accepted him as their own.

Rob Macklin has a way of drawing you into a non-fiction story. His work reads like a novel.
