Status Updates From Frankly in Love

Whatever conversation Frank just had at the dinner table with Q’s parents, I felt awkward…and they weren’t even saying anything negative😭IDK I DON’T OFTEN HAVE FAMILY DINNERS SO LIKE, IT’S WEIRD WHEN I FIND A BUNCH OF, WHAT THIS BOOK IS CHARACTERIZING, ‘DORKS’ LIKE UH idk but I can definitely feel it in the room.

Also, I enjoy Frank and Joy's interactions more, but that might be because they're childhood friends. Frank's character is way more authentic and mature outside of his mock-middle-school-relationship with Brit....

The only kind of socially awkward characters I can deal with are the ones that don't censor themselves and the ones that aren't trying to create trends in their NERDY friend group/nsrs. Because calling your phones "fartphones" reminds me that y'all are 18-year-old kids... LMAO I'm actually finding this SOMEWHAT accurate for a nerdy, socially awkward guy, but this story is so Hollywood TV kinda accurate. So not much.

I typically wouldn't cringe at this, but Frank and Brit's back and forth is giving me secondhand-embarrassment at their ripe age of 18... They message each other like: "Missing you super bad" and "lol my funny boy" LIKE STOP IT, ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE'S NOTHING ELSE ADDED TO CLARIFY WHATEVER HUMOR THIS IS 💔💔💔

Uhhh the scene of Frank Li and Joy Song was cute, but that shit was awkward…ngl, the Asian family reunions like this was absolute peak😭😭lowkey wish we were still invited amirite.

Not talking about this book, just this specific page because my opinion could change, but why are the main characters in some books or shows the most VANILLA people. Looking at the cover of the book (Different from Goodreads), I can tell he’s a little nerdy, socially awkward, and barely any friends, BUT I SWEAR, THERE SHOULD BE OTHER ASIANS AT YOUR SCHOOL, YOU’RE IN SOUTH CALI??? Needa be slapped if I’m wrong.
