Status Updates From Secrets of Santorini

A pair of brothers called Angelo and Damian?? Seriously? Oh, how I wonder where this is going 🤔 🙄

Really dragging now. I've had enough of the convenient coincidences and the constant reminders that the protagonist is an incredibly attractive female in an oh-so-heart-breaking-but-not-really romance, distracting from the actual historical story. The writing just isn't good enough to be going on and on like this.

Well, I want to know what happens but I can't help but feel that so much of the story is just silly. And stories of quick outside-hospital births where the cord is cut straight away without clamping it first give me heavy eyerolls. Hopefully the story will all come together a bit more soon.

Reading this for a book club. It's a bit of escapism but the main character is so irritating! She's hapless, idiotic and at times just plain ignorant, finding it so difficult to see from another's perspective. The car crash she causes by driving on the wrong side of the road in another country was just a ridiculous distraction.
