OMG this book is absolute nonsense.
And I know this doesn’t sound like a good reason to DNF, because I am usually a fan of nonsense — nonsense is FUN.
This? This isn’t fun. This is disparate elements pulled from wherever and sort of assembled into a semblance of a story-shaped thing. Characters are one-dimensional and the world falls on the wrong side of bizarre.
42% through and done with this, sorry.

The Italian peppered throughout is already bugging me, but NGL, that second gown does sound incredible

Emmanuela is so incredibly selfish, literally gives off toxic masc energy and constantly says she’s not like the others in her town. And yk what… it’s madly entertaining. Hope she changes ofc, but she better keep some of that “if i want it, i’m gonna get it” like a f-ing boss
