Emmanuela is so incredibly selfish, literally gives off toxic masc energy and constantly says she’s not like the others in her town. And yk what… it’s madly entertaining. Hope she changes ofc, but she better keep some of that “if i want it, i’m gonna get it” like a f-ing boss

Well, this escalated quickly.

This first chapter is an excellent example of setting up a seemingly unlikeable character but making her kind of likeable due to her sheer audacity.

these characters have no real plan. It's a little chaotic.

I was a little wary when I read the author bio and it said, writes books with unlikable characters. That's a potential red flag statement. I also didn't know if I was in the mood for fantasy, but the cover grabbed my attention, so I wanted to read it.
It's not that bad so far. Very quick. Emmanuela is really not very nice. Slytherin energy is strong. But I too am a Slytherin, so I don't hate her.
