The message is so clear right now, I can say confidently when I’m finished with this book my mindset will change

A classic in my opinion. Read while on holidays and made me redefine how I see my money vs time

Well, so far in this book, your money or your life, the author uses your life energy as a metaphor for your time in your life. Right now, the author challenges, you to keep track of your life in a way that’s almost like running a business with all expenses to the dollars to cut down on habits you don’t want to have In order to save your life energy for things you care about

money is not really the thing you’re after! it’s simply the medium to obtaining whatever thing makes you happy

I’m very mixed on this book so far. It’s a lot to consider. A very intense approach to analyzing your life, possessions and choices and considering it deeper. I wouldn’t call it a finance book at all.

„Wenn ich den Großteil meiner Zeit für Geld verkaufe, bin ich dann wirklich auf der sicheren Seite?“ - something to think about!

I made it through chapter four before it was due back at the library. I'm going to apply the exercise she recommends and borrow the book again.

The way the book frames time and money as life energy equivalents is great, but it needs updated to reflect post-pandemic culture, which includes remote or hybrid work for many. A lot of the practical tips are intuitive and stuff I'd already figured out.

I’m willing to go along with a lot of this because the underlying ideas are pretty useful but some of these examples are just so ridiculous.

seems a little far fetched so far. the way it’s written makes it seem like every day should be one grand adventure that you feel refreshed and motivated by. no matter what you do, that’s just not reality. there will be bad days even if you actually like your job! also, i think if most people left their work based on their “actual” hourly rate, they would still find ways to inappropriately spend.

Adding "Why?" to the end of any question will take it DEEPER.
Adding "How has society shaped my view?" will take it WIDER?

Not going to lie… I was about to quit this book. It felt like I had heard everything it was saying before.
But then it posed these 2 Qs
Why do you work?
What are you motivated by?
& separated the 2 different reasons for work
Material/Financial
Emotional/Psychological
& then highlighted the difference between “work” & “paid employment”.
Redesigning “work” makes us life designers & changes perspective.
