Now for herbal tea!

I’m starting to lose track of all these different types of tea, I feel like I should have been taking notes

Quite the history on Britain’s relationship with tea and much less tradition than I previously perceived

On rolling tea leaves: “This is considered entirely a woman’s job in Nepal. A man doesn’t have the patience or the delicacy to roll between his hands; they’re not soft enough. In China, Japan and Taiwan, contrarily, its general a man’s job to roll; a woman is considered less skilled.”

Can't help but feel a bit of fetishization and Eat Pray Love sentiments in this.

There's a chapter where she is having matcha with a Buddhist monk and is asking him for advice... really outta touch.

The way the author refers to farmers she works with as "my farmer" rubs me the wrong way. I work with farmers, and would never speak of them like that, as if they are your employees rather than business partners.

Was enjoying this but then she just humble bragging that she's the British military's tea plug...

I thought I was a baddie for handling my tea leaving the tea bag/ball in the whole time I’m drinking it. Turns out, that’s why I get dry mouth from drinking tea; I always over steep my tea, which releases an excessive amount of tannins and causing that dry mouthfeel. I’m learning so much.
