So excited to continue learning from Sarah and Beth, the podcasters from Pantsuit Politics, two friends who are Christians and have historically voted differently.

Very enjoyable. I appreciate their approach to hot topics, discussing how traditional discussions force you into one of two sides, and how they see more than that, talking about why they believe what they do and finding common ground. They also discuss the dangers of being on teams, republican vs democrat, and how you get group mindset and blindly think something because that’s your teams opinion.

They keep referring to political parties as sports teams and advising that people “take their jerseys off” which is a good analogy. Stop believe something is right or wrong because your team says so, have conversations about what actually matters to you and reflects your values, not what your teams says you should stand for.

Interesting listen so far. They touched on the “strong dislike” that’s developed between parties. Something like 20 years ago, a teen percentage (17?) of republicans and democrats “strongly disliked” members of the other party, and in the past election or two that number has reached almost 50% on both sides! They discuss blindly agreeing with your party’s platform when you haven’t actually looked at it
