not sure how i’m feeling about this one. some moments it’s really good but then some moments it feels very pretentious and high and mighty and then sometimes it just feels TOO exaggerated. i don’t know. i’m invested tho. it’s a good read so far

I just started reading this today and I have already laughed to the point of tears! These stories are so funny and highly relatable to anyone who has worked with kids 😊

" 'I'd never thought I'd learn to read,' Mrs. Hanson continued. 'Not in a million years. And you helped me, Mr. Done. You helped me. I'm grateful that you sent all those books home every night with Ronny. Thank you, Mr. Done. You helped me learn to read.'
"Some days, when everyone is gone, you close the door and cry. This was one of those days."

"I am a piler. I pile papers on my desk. I pile them on the floor. ... I pile on my piles. I have three file cabinets. If you open them, you will see piles. But it is not easy to be a teacher and a piler. Pilers are often misunderstood and made fun of behind their piles..."

Really liking this! I feel, even though I'm not a teacher, that I can relate to most of his stories. Working with kids helps!

laugh out loud funny-- I just read a chapter to my class about things that derail lessons-- spiders, bees, fire drills, etc.
