I also didn't know that C already had polymorphism and unspoken contracts, so that you could have polymorphism through disciplined programming.
OOP just made it much easier and safer to use polymorphism and inversion of control a super weapon

The book so far have explained very well the first 2 SOLID principles applying for architecture. I have read lots of articles and docos on these principles but never really recognised why it is so important.
