Status Updates From Brewster's Millions

I asked my mom for book recommendations and she pulled this old hardcover book from her shelves. 50 pages in and already eating it up.

gets suuuuper racist

The language in this book is so dated- slang of the time- that it not only dates, it grates. Shame- because the story could be good

I like it!

This is part of my 26 book challenge. The challenge was a book you learned about because of this challenge. I saw this in a Goodreads email saying if you like Mr. Blanding builds his dream home you will like this. I had heard of the movie but never seen it so was interested to see it was a book. Didn't expect to get this part of the challenge so quick but I was very excited to hear about the book.

Very hard to stick with. The machine gun style reading yatticka-yatticka-yatticka is hard to listen to for very long and still actually hear the story. I'm trying though.

Librivox recording. Reader is very articulate but reads like a newscaster, which is just weird for a novel. She's a volunteer so I appreciate her contribution. Otherwise, she's very good.
