Status Updates From The Promise

The idea of the book is good but I’m feeling conflicted about the agreements between the dead wife and the nurse… sort of creepy the way she was scoping out the soon to be widow. It feels sort of gross.

Still struggling with the hopping but now adding all the identifying women by their hair color. Surely a good editor would point these things out as being amateurish?

Yes, this is my first book by the author and, while I plan to finish this one since it was a review copy, I doubt I'd read another unless more recent books fix these issues.

Okay, the head hopping is insane. Another thing that sort of pulls me out of the story is the fact that the text is clearly written by someone from the UK judging by the non-US vocabulary but the narrator is American. Why not get a Brit to do the narration?

Oh, and also all this damn head hopping!! UGH!

I’ve postponed listening to this book multiple times. I lost a couple of people to due to cancer and I was a little afraid this would get to me. And now, 20 minutes into the story I know I was right. It’s made me cry already. Knowing your going to lose somebody, knowing you’re not going to heal and leave this world full of loved ones. It just gets to me. So I can’t say I particularity enjoy it yet, but boy it’s good
