Oh my gosh, when this gets into its stride this is quite the YA Terry Pratchettish fantasy. Slightly dark, observational humour, OTT characters made for eyebrow-raising... Yet the accented dialogue is so painful to read. And now someone has a lisp. I really don't like the narration breaking the 4th wall bits, or how part 1 felt like it was trying too hard. Almost DNF'd because of it. Part 3+ looking much better.
